Bissell Vacuums Earned Reputation

The chances are high that the Bissell is one of the most trusted and well known vacuum cleaner companies on the market. Bissell is a word that became synonymous with floor and carpet cleaning in US and around the world for over a century.

The reputation of the company has been earned. The first Bissell vacuum was actually a carpet sweeper, designed by Melville Bissell himself. Back in the 1800s, Melville and his wife, Anna, owned a shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. When Anna became fed up with having to clean sawdust from the carpets, Melville went to work to find a solution to the problem. And then the first Bissell product was born.

It was Anna who stepped up to the challenge and pushed Bissell vacuum cleaners into corporate history after her husband Melville died. Anna didn't just became the first woman that was a chief executive officer in a US company, she led the Bissell into world and success.

There were more and more products being produced by Bissell besides sweepers as company moved forward - carpet shampooers, vacuums, steam mop and upholstery cleaners. As a homage to Melville for his thirst and desire for invention, the Bissell put emphasis on the research and development. The effort definitely paid off, whatever the case may be.

Carpet sweepers made Bissell famous, but the vacuum cleaners Bissell made are also well known for many different reasons. Almost every store that sells vacuum cleaners will have a Bissell product. You can find these vacuum cleaners everywhere, from tiny corner stones to the big malls. The most used parts on a Bissell vacuum, bags and belts, can be found almost everywhere. The company's makes and models are so popular, it generally isn't a problem to find the right part when it's needed.

Bissells have a reputation for working rather well. Power and efficiency is what Bissell products are built off, whether it's a shampooer or a vacuum cleaner. These vacuum cleaners are quite affordable, when being compared to the models of other manufacturers. Bissell is trying to offer at least on product in every price range.
